Kindergarten Round-Up Open House
Thursday, February 21, 2008
6.45 P.M.

All parents who are curious about their local options for Christian education are invited to learn more about Walnut Ridge Baptist Academy. This is a no-obligation opportunity to see the school up close. The Open House will give parents an opportunity to explore the benefits of Christian education, tour the school, visit with current kindergarten parents and learn how to assess a child’s readiness for kindergarten. Childcare will be provided.

Kindergarten Round-Up Parent Night
Tuesday, February 26, 2008
6:45 P.M.

Parents of Kindergarten Round-Up children are invited to an informational meeting in the kindergarten classroom, room 108, to meet with the teacher, visit the classroom, ask/answer questions, understand the kindergarten round-up process and view portions of John Rosemond’s video, Helping Your Child Succeed in School. Childcare will be provided.

Readiness Screening
Thursday, February 28, 2008
8:15-9:00 or 9:00-9:45 or 9:45-10:30 or 10:30-11:15 A.M.

Each child will experience a developmental readiness screening at a pre-assigned time confirmed through a phone call from the school office about one week prior to Round-Up.

Kindergarten Class Visitation Day
Friday, February 29, 2008
8:15-11:15 A.M.

Each child will experience one half day A.M. class session. Parents may bring their child to the kindergarten classroom (Rm 108) at the beginning of the session. Parents may pick their child up at the classroom at the end of the session. Should there be a large number of kindergarten candidates the class will be divided into an A.M. and P.M. (12:15-3:15 P.M.) session.

Teacher’s Summary Conference
Monday or Tuesday, March 10 or 11, 2008

Kindergarten teacher Miss Smits will meet with parents of prospective kindergarten students to review observations and results of readiness screening, share recommendations and discuss options that would best meet the needs of each child for a successful school experience.

Administrator’s Conference
Wednesday or Thursday or Friday, March 12, 13, or 14, 2008

The administrator will meet with parents of kindergarten candidates applying to The Ridge for the first time to review their application and to complete the final stages of the admission process.
